Delegating is a wonderful yet underrated tool - for exactly the reason you mention!

When you approach delegating from an attitude of 'just get this off my plate', 9/10 times you will end up making it harder for yourself because you're trying to strike things off the list completely.

When you decide to allocate a task (or project) to somebody else, take the time first to map out exactly what they need & what they need to KNOW in order to be able to do it effectively - & keep some more time available to support them (I like to think of it as freeing up 90% of your time but protecting 10% to make sure it gets done well)

Side note: maybe that means delegating more than just the bare minimum to keep your head above water.

If you're finding yourself often delegating (or wanting to delegate) the same or similar tasks, it's well worth creating a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) so you don't have to spend the time preparing how to hand it over each time - these also serve as a great reminder for yourself on busy days as well as tools to review your efficiencies & plan updates.

In terms of prioritising, take a look at your whole to-do list & be crude with it - ask yourself these 2 critical questions (& be brutally honest):

What's on there that genuinely only you can do?
What of it is moving the needle towards your bigger goals?

Anything that doesn't fit into those 2 categories is likely something that can be delegated out.

The more you can plan ahead & more often you can delegate, the more familiar your freelancers or team will get with the work - so it will be quicker & easier for them to do a better job (& much less stressful for you!)

On top of that, you'll have more time not only to focus on the work that needs you, but more space to think about the future of your business & how you can scale to create more time (& resource) for yourself.
